500 Internal Server Error

Such errors appear very rarely, but when they do, you have no idea what could be the cause of the error. The best and first attempt to solve them is to look at your apache error logs (click on the "Error Log" icon in cPanel). You must be able to resolve the problem once you have known the cause of the problem.

Generally, errors appear if you have PHP SuExec compiled along with your default PHP installation. If you are sure you or your host does not have PHP SuExec installed, then the next probable cause would be that you have specified a incorrect CHMOD permission to your files. Most PHP files would require execution permissions, which may be denied. You can assign CHMOD permissions either in your control panel or your FTP Client. Ideally, you could specify 755 to the files and then check if the error has resided.

If not, check your .htaccess file and make sure all the lines are 100% compliant and accurate. These should solve your problem in 99% of the cases. If you still get the error, please open a support ticket.
